Debra Tapia Accused Of Seducing Her Friend's 15-Year-Old Son (VIDEO)

I think that the age of consent should be the same for both boys and girls. And of course, I was being humorous. It just seems ironic to me that so many women find this to be abusive or offensive; yet as a boy I would have welcomed such advances from an older woman. I wished for it! The times are not as innocent now. There are many more predators and older people who wish to exploit or harm kids. When I was that age, I just wanted to experience sex with someone who knew what they were doing. :-)

Unemployed Women Selling Their Wedding Rings On Craigslist

It's not a wedding ring -- but it meant an awful lot to me: my BMW motorcycle. I had to sell it last summer to pay my mortgage. I also had to see my recumbent bicycle and my LifeFitness eliptical exercise machine. These things were all very important to me but I had to sacrifice them to meet my financial obligations. I understand and empathize what these women are going through. It was a very rough year for most of us and some of us aren't out of the woods yet! Just keep trying! That's the best you can do and don't feel guilty because everyone is going through the same thing!

School Administrator Boasts About Spying On Students Using Laptop Webcams

The arrogance and self-righteous attitude of these administrators is galling yet unsurprising. They feel like they can do anything they want without repercussion. I hope the FBI or the courts come down hard on this kind of abuse.

Honda CR-Z Sports Hybrid Launches

I want one! This is a hot little roadster that also just happens to be a hybrid. It also happens to be affordable. It's perfect for me: It's a two-seater, which is fine because I rarely have more than one other person riding with me. Usually it's just me and my dog. It's a hybrid, which is important because everyone should strive to take more personal responsibility in being more efficient with our diminishing resources. And, it's sporty which is great. I enjoy driving and have always loved performance cars. I have wanted to move to a hybrid for several years but did not want to give up the performance of my sports car. Now I won't have to. Kudos to Honda for taking another chance.

John Boehner Is Now Upset That The Health Care Bill Isn't Long Enough

Congressman Barney Frank appeared on the Rachel Maddow show last night. As they discussed the plague of hypocrisy currently affecting the GOP over the Stimulus, Frank stated: "I've never said this before about colleagues on the other side of the aisle but it's intellectual dishonesty. They want President Obama to fail". It was suddenly so clear: The GOP has no intention of debating in good faith. They no the exact conclusion that they want to reach before they start. So no matter what anyone else says or does, they will choose whichever course helps them achieve their desired end result of President Obama's complete failure as a leader. Progressives want to solve problems and make, well, progress. The GOP does not. They want to do everything in their power -- including lying -- to send this country back to an era when we didn't acknowledge gays, minorities, or women, and rich, old white men ruled everything and did whatever they damn well pleased. THAT is what all of these "debates" on healthcare reform, pollution caps, and jobs bills are all about. Congressman Frank boiled it all down to this very easy to understand point.

Sugar May Be Bad But This Sweetener Is Far More Deadly

You have Ronnie Reagan to thank for the lack of FDA regulation on this and the lack of regulation in so many other matters. It was all part of Ronnie's "Government is Bad" revolution. George Bush Jr. took it to new lows by filling government regulation jobs with political hacks (ie. "Heckuva Job Brownie"). So, when you think about lead in toys from China or e coli bacteria in raw meat, think about Ronnie and Bush Jr. who brought you this "revolution".

Steve Jobs: Apple Tablet "Will Be The Most Important Thing I've Ever Done" (RUMOR)

I remember about 10 years ago when critics were ranting about Apples demise. Steve Jobs was envisioning a small, lightweight, portable music player called the iPod. He approached all of the major music labels to seek their cooperation. They basically laughed him out of their offices. So, he did an end-around and started the iTunes store. Billions of downloads later, the record labels are STILL trying to catch up. Steve Jobs repeated this story when he proposed the iPhone. Virtually every major cellphone carrier told him he was crazy. Now of course they're practically soiling themselves trying to copy the iPhone. You see, Apple does not compromise their products. Are they the cheapest on the market? No, but that's hardly the point. They simply make well-designed, easy-to-use products that work, and work very well. If you want to be like everyone else and buy the cheapest netbook available; fine. But some of us prefer the value-added features that Apple has always included in all of their products since the first Macs.

Obama Finally Gets His Victory For Bipartisanship

I could not agree more. Some of the most dedicated Obama supporters I know are now losing faith! I am personally not ready to give up on him but he (and his advisors) have made some terrible decisions. Why? Are they afraid of the right? It sure seems so, as they pucker up and kiss the @$$ of every Republican't in sight. There is no one freer than one who has nothing left to lose. President Obama, his advisors, and the Democrats in Congress need to "man-up" so-to-speak and start showing some backbone! Will the right wing scream? Yes, but they've been screaming anyway. Let 'em. Too bad. We won. They lost. They screwed things up and it should be OUR time to have it our way for a change! If not, maybe they should just call it quits and let some more people like Rep. Anthony Weiner and Rep. Alan Grayson take the lead. At least THEY aren't afraid!

PETA Activists Get Naked And Cover Themselves In Fake Blood To Protest Fur (VIDEO, NSFW)

PETA protests are done for shock value. It helps their cause by jolting people out of their normal comfort zone and forces them to acknowledge the act itself. That in itself is a "victory" because it demands attention. And you cannot change someones mind until you have their attention. Does it possibly disenfranchise some people and drive them away? Yes. But I still think it's worth the risk.

Core i7 iMac Problems: iMacs Showing Up DOA

It's the same old complaint: PC's cost less...blah blah blah. If price is your overriding concern, then by all means buy a PC. It will be adequate. But if you spend all day, every day on your computer as I do, you come to appreciate the small things that are built into all Macs; the elegant user interface; and yes, the design. I know it's difficult for some of you number-crunchers to appreciate, but those of us in the creative world do appreciate the sophisticated design of Apple products. And above all else: they just work. Period.

Kirk Cameron denies theory of evolution.

In a recent article on CNN the headline reads: Kirk Cameron attempts to debunk Darwin.

I think the headline should be "Kirk Cameron attempts to deny Darwin" not "debunk". The inference of the word debunk implies that it is something dishonest that needs to be corrected. No! Darwin's theory of evolution is science; not some ponzi scheme. His theories revolutionized scientific thought on the origin of mankind and will stand the test of time despite it's deniers. These are basically the kinds of people who deny that we landed on the moon, or that the climate is heating up, or that the holocaust occurred. They like to create controversy to draw attention to themselves. This is nonsense that does not merit CNN's coverage.

Zack Heddinger, Steelers Fan, Says He Was Poisoned, Blinded At Chicago Bar After Bears Game

As a Chicagoan, I hope that it is not the case that someone would poison another person just because they were an out-of-town fan. If it is true, then it is despicable. I hope Mr. Heddinger improves and returns to health. And as a Chicagoan, and life-long Bears fan it's an embarrassment.

Want Obama To Be Bolder? Take To The Streets!

You're right: We elected a fool and a coward...in 2000 & 2004. He's the fool who got us into two of the longest wars in US history; oversaw the collapse of the financial markets; and looked the other way as those around him tried to warn him of the imminent Al-Qaeda attacks. Yep that's you're coward and fool, George Bush, Jr.

Obama Family Photo By Annie Leibovitz Released

What a lovely photo. Annie Leibovitz always does beautiful portraits. The other thing that you notice is that the older daughter is definitely Michelle's girl; while the younger daughter is Barack's little girl. Very sweet.

As a First Family portrait this is powerful and beautiful because it says: Here is a young, educated, intelligent, and loving family who worked hard to get where they are, and are enjoying a great life in the United States. Oh, and they just happen to be persons of color. What a great message to send to the country and to the rest of the world!

Retro-Mac: Which Clunky Apple Computer Was The Worst? (PHOTOS, POLL)

I can't recall the model of Mac that I had that was a lemon, but I can recall many models that were great. The CS and CX were both good. The FX was good. The 8500 and 9500 models were good. And the G5's were very good. But my sentimental favorite was the Quadra 650. It was one of the first models to have the PowerPC chip. It wasn't the fastest or biggest of it's day, but it was like a Chevy pickup truck: it just kept running. Always. I kept it clean of games and custom fonts, which always caused problems then, and it ran like a pro. I also have to say that the newer iMac models are also very good computers. They are stable, easy to use, all-in-one, with clear screens and up to 4 GB of RAM. They make very good computers for designers.

Liz Cheney needs to shut the hell up!

Liz Cheney needs to shut the hell up!

She is the eldest daughter of the former Vice President Dick Cheney. She was handed several jobs within the Bush administration and also helped her father get reelected as Vice President in 2004.

Lately though, she has emerged along with her father as chief apologist for the crimes of the Bush administration. She has also launched several attacks on the Obama administration, the latest of which she criticizes the Nobel Prize Jury for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama. She called the prize a "farce", claimed that it is not a legitimate award if given to the current President, and that the only way to legitimize it would be if the family of a US military member accepted it.

That is a pretty big rock for Ms. Cheney to be throwing when she lives in such a large glass house. If you recall her father, military hawk Dick Cheney received multiple military deferments to avoid service in Viet Nam. Furthermore, Ms. Cheney herself has avoided serving her country by enlisting in the armed services or the National Guard despite having no age, gender, or physical barriers preventing her from doing so.

Her father, while virtually devoid of human emotion, at least has the credentials to speak about this subject with credibility. Liz Cheney on the other hand has had no such experience as Chief of Staff to the President, or Secretary of Defense. So why does anyone pay attention to her? Obviously for her famous family lineage. But that lineage is one in which her father revealed the identity of a covert CIA agent, authorized torture upon human beings, created an illegal domestic campaign to spy upon the American people, pushed hard for the failed war in Iraq, tried to push for the bombing of Iran, let Osama bin Laden escape in Tora Bora, Afghanistan, and fell asleep at the helm in September of 2001 and ignored FBI and CIA warnings suggesting that an attack by Osama bin Laden was imminent.

That is NOT a lineage that I would be proud of. If it were mine, I would not have the gaul to criticize a visionary leader such as President Obama. But then the Cheney family have never been big believers in humility or honesty. They have proven that they will say anything; do anything that furthers their selfish quest for power. And that above all else is why Liz Cheney needs to shut the hell up.

'Daily Show' Destroys CNN For Fact-Checking 'SNL' Instead Of Their Guests (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart destroys CNN for fact-checking a skit from Saturday Night Live but neglecting to check many of the outrageous statements made by their interviewees such as AZ Senator John Kyl, UT Senator Orrin Hatch and others. Stewart targets CNN but obviously his message is a broad comment on the current state of news gathering. It has become less about providing the public service of keeping the government in check by researching & fact-checking; and more about sensationalism and appearing to provide "balanced" coverage. Usually the "balance" that they strive for comes at the expense of watering-down valid points & issues because even one person disagrees. These days I put much more faith in organizations such as Media Matters, Politifact, and HuffPost.
